Comprehensive Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for this esteemed program, applicants must meet the following strict criteria:
- Nationality & Gender: Must be an unmarried male citizen of Pakistan.
- Age: Candidates should not be more than 20 years old as of 31st December 2025. A one-year age relaxation (up to 21 years) is granted to candidates from FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), and Balochistan.
- Education: A minimum of F.Sc (Pre-Engineering) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, securing at least 55% marks. Candidates with A-Levels and equivalent qualifications are also eligible.
- Awaiting Results: Students awaiting their F.Sc Part-II results may apply provisionally if they have secured at least 60% marks in Part-I. However, final admission is contingent upon submitting the final marksheet with an overall aggregate of at least 55%. Failure to do so at any stage will result in disqualification.
Selection and Training Pathway
The selection process is rigorous and designed to identify the most suitable candidates. It begins with a written entrance test conducted in major cities across Pakistan. This MCQ-based test covers Physics, Mathematics, English, and General Knowledge (IQ), and a minimum score of 50% is required to qualify for the next stage. Shortlisted candidates will then be called for a medical examination, a Physical Endurance Test (PET), and a final interview. The PET includes running, push-ups, sit-ups, and chin-ups to assess physical fitness.
Upon selection, cadets will embark on a two-year residential training course. After successful completion, they will be awarded a BS degree in Nautical Science or Marine Engineering from the prestigious NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi. Additionally, they will receive a course completion certificate recognized by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
Scholarships and Financial Support
To encourage merit, the Government offers substantial scholarship opportunities. The Ministry of Maritime Affairs provides 33 merit-based scholarships. Furthermore, another 33 merit-based scholarships are available through the Ministry of Engineers, distributed based on provincial quotas, ensuring representation from all corners of Pakistan.

- Prepare a bank draft or pay order of Rs. 4,000/- in the name of "Pakistan Marine Academy, Karachi". The draft must be payable at the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), PMA Branch (Code-0239), Karachi.
- Send the completed application form along with the original bank draft/pay order to the address provided below.
- Ensure your application reaches the academy no later than 25th July 2025.
